I went to a local cdl school. It is supposed to be a very good one. Well I can tell you that for some it is not. The class I attended was headed by the head instructor. He evidently did not like the students he was given . The other classes seemed to have a positive experience.
Our class however did not. Class started at 8:00, the instructor showed at 8:30 or so. He was outside smoking. We had about 2 hours a day of class between the 3 or 4 45 minute smoke breaks. After 1 week of class we started on driving skills. Same problem. We were supposed to start backing up after 3 days of driving on the range. We , however started backing 3 days before we took our cdl test. The other instructors were there and wanted us to start practicing 45 degree backing. We did not even know how. One smart assed instructor was showing us how to do it wrong . He finally got caught but nothing was said to him about it. Fortunatly the instructor that gives the test cut us some slack and gave us more tries than he was supposed to so we could pass.
If not for one instructor showing us some tricks to pass the backing up test , most would not have a cdl right now.
I learned to back up when I got my end dump job. The man just told me ' get in and go, you will learn ' I did.
So anyone in Wichita ks should stay away from a well known technical college school on N Seneca.
